The future of healthcare in Africa is digital, and Vula Medical is proud to be part of shaping it. At the Smart Health Africa Summit in June 2024, our founder Dr William Mapham joined industry leaders to discuss how we can move towards digital-first healthcare systems.

Key themes included:

• Interoperability: Digital tools must connect seamlessly to ensure patient information flows securely.

• Trust: Adoption depends on health workers and patients trusting the systems we build.

• Access: Technology must reduce and not widen the gap in access to quality care.

Vula’s role? Acting as the “glue and oil” of the health system, making it easier for primary health workers to reach the right specialist, fast, while reducing unnecessary referrals.

This conversation reinforced our mission: to put specialist knowledge in every clinic, in every corner of the country, through secure, efficient digital tools.
